Class leading YZ450F-based engine

Sometimes, there's no substitute for power. The next generation 450cc 4-stroke reverse-head engine is the strongest and most advanced design ever used on a Yamaha enduro bike. Its enduro specific camshaft timing purposefully suppresses low-rpm torque to optimise it for enduro riding while delivering smoother power characteristics and reducing the tendency for engine stalls giving you extra confidence on the trails.

Meeting the latest noise regulations

The WR450F exhaust utilises a centrally positioned resonator, while the air filter also houses a resonator and duct to reduce induction noise to meet the latest sound regulations. Its front facing intake is also uniquely designed to enable the 450cc engine to run at peak efficiency at all rpm. A straight intake port runs directly to the 39mm inlet valves, giving instant throttle response for immediate acceleration when you need it.

Enduro specific hydraulic clutch

The all-new durable hydraulic clutch gives a natural, light engagement with consistent behaviour for better control. It offers a light pull with plenty of feel, resulting in easier control of the engine – particularly beneficial when handling extreme conditions and lower-speed enduro riding.

Lightweight wide ratio 5-speed transmission

To match the most challenging enduro conditions, the WR450F runs with an optimised 5-speed wide ratio gearbox. Featuring gears with increased strength, this durable transmission is ideal for both technical as well as high speed sections.

Redesigned chassis

Offering improved control and comfort, the WR450F benefits from a redesigned chassis which has been developed from the race winning YZ450F. Tuned to offer a balanced rigidity, the downtube features a thickened upper section, narrowed bottom section and asymmetric engine mounts, ensuring more comfort and a better response when tackling tough enduro challenges.

Slim, compact bodywork

Slim, compact and ready to conquer. The WR450F’s narrow bodywork shrouds and mid-section offer freedom to move in all riding positions, while the flat seat features a new textured surface for optimum grip under hard acceleration and aggressive cornering.

Uprated KYB suspension

The WR450F is equipped with industry leading KYB speed sensitive front forks and a lightweight rear shock with enduro-specific suspension settings that give excellent feel and feedback. The front forks feature a hand adjustable compression damping adjuster for optimum precision.

Industry-first anti-theft ECU lock system

The Power Tuner app controls an industry-first anti-theft ECU lock system, unlockable only through the owners' password for added peace of mind out on the trails or in the paddock. A few taps of the screen open the 'Quick Tuning' function enabling you to easily select 'Smooth' to 'Aggressive' engine settings to suit varying conditions.

Improved rear brake control

An updated rear brake setup features a new brake hose material, coupled with a revised caliper shape, smaller brake disc and changed piston diameter to offer a lighter overall weight, and improved control giving you better feel during challenging enduro sections. The changed lever ratio makes it easier to use, while an all-new removable pedal tip makes maintenance and repair work easier than ever.

Optimised ergonomics

The WR450F is a bike that is designed to give you the ultimate control. The rider triangle created by the relationship between the flat seat, footrest position and handlebar mounting location provides idealized ergonomics with easy rider mobility, enabling you to shift your body position rapidly and move your centre of gravity for optimum control when braking, accelerating or cornering.

Full enduro-ready specification

Fully ready to Enduro, the WR450F features an 18-inch rear wheel, enduro tyres, lighting, instruments, special ECU and a radiator fan. The fuel tank has a capacity of 7.4 litres, and there is a tool-less access to the airbox as well as an engine guard and enduro muffler to complete the enduro specification.

Low-speed control with new rear wheel sprocket

Improving low-speed control and reducing the ability to stall is a revised rear sprocket setup. During low-speed riding, the new T51 rear sprocket allows you to tackle long, demanding trails while also reducing stalling during slow, technical sections – giving you greater confidence at all times.
